Programs and Duration:

Pre Medical Program

This fast-track program for high school graduates, spans over 4 trimesters and is designed to provide college level courses and necessary credits required for entry into the four year MD program. It provides the students with a fundamental pre medical background as well as a sound foundation to make an informed decision on pursuing medicine.

Basic Sciences Program

The basic Medical Science Program at American University of Barbados is designed to fulfill personal, pre-professional or other career advancement goals of the students. Skilled advisors will help the students to navigate the application process for the medical school, including building their portfolio and preparing them for interviews.

Clinical Science Program:

The clinical science program comprises of 72 weeks of clinical rotations at our affiliated hospitals and specialized clinical facilities in USA, Barbados, Malta and Philippines. During the rotations/clerkships, the students participate in supervised patient care rotating through various medical specialties. The students receive personal guidance from the clinical faculty to develop essential skills and knowledge.

Intakes (Start dates of courses):

The admission process at the school of Medicine is based on a trimester system. Students are admitted three times a year that is, in January, May and September. Each trimester lasts for a duration of 16 weeks. Students may apply for admission to school of medicine at any time throughout the year, but students who submit their applications well in advance will have greater chance of matriculating in the trimester of their choice.

5000 USD per trimester for Pre Med

6500 USD per trimester for Basic Sciences

7900 USD per trimester for pre-clinical & clinical sciences in USA

7000 USD per trimester for pre-clinical & clinical sciences in Malta

4500 USD per trimester for pre-clinical & clinical sciences in Philippines

Scholarship is available for the eligible students.
